Marloth Nature Reserve, 14 123ha in extent, lies in the Swellendam Mountains. It is named after the botanist who, with local residents, petitioned the Minister of Lands and Forestry in 1928 to establish the reserve. During 1981 the reserve was enlarged and the Swellendam Hiking Trail was opened. There are various trails, from one – six days, and accommodation is available. Tel: 028 514 1410
