There are various special events or festivals for the visitor to enjoy.
On the first weekend in July the annual “Fees van die Ganse” (festival
of the geese) attracts more than 10,000 visitors to the area. The “Fees
van die Ganse” celebrates the origins of Gansbaai, and remembers the
wild geese (Kolgans) that flocked to the freshwater spring located in
the harbour.
